Broken Apple Pencil tip stuck inside

My Apple Pencil dropped on the floor and the tip broke off. Part of it is stuck in the pencil so I can’t put a new tip on. How do I remove that little piece that needs to be unscrewed off when it can’t be gripped?

To remove the broken piece stuck inside your Apple Pencil, use a fine needle, pin, or sharp-pointed precision tool. Gently press the sharp tip into the exposed plastic piece and twist it counter-clockwise to unscrew the lodged fragment without scratching the inner metal sensor.

Using sharp implements in an attempt to remove a broken Pencil Tip from an Apple Pencil is a bad idea.


Instead, you would be best advised to visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to assist with removing the broken tip:
