Stylus Suddenly Making Clicking Sounds Every Time I Touch the Screen

Have you made sure the stylus tip is fully tightened? WhenI get the clicks you describe, it's a loose tip on the stylus, not a device problem.

This is a user to user only forum. Apple really never designed iPhone for use with Stylus like they did with iPad and for that, there's their own Apple Pencil. As such, expecting Apple to come out with a fix (software or otherwise) to accommodate a product they don't make, support nor sell, seems unlikely. The resource you need to turn to is the manufacturer of the stylus, which you said is made by Targus. Contact them for help with their device.

iPhones are not designed for use with a stylus. (Perhaps you know Steve Jobs adamantly opposed the use of a stylus.)
