Converting a video frame to a photo in Photos on iPad

To turn a video frame into a photo directly inside the native Photos app on your iPad, open the video, scrub or pause on the exact frame you want, tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner, and select Save Video Frame as Photo.

I think I remember it disappeared on the Mac version for a while, too. You might want to let Apple know:

The Photos forum has turned into a minefield, when all photos forums have been joined into one large board for the app Photos on all platforms. It would not be so bad, if the app where fully identical on all platforms, but as it is now, we have to be very cautious with every step we take, until there is no longer a difference between the versions of Photos on all platforms.

Try:

This will put the frame in the Pictures Folder in tiff format. I exported a frame that became a tiff at 25MB. I used the right-click menu Quick Actions>Convert Image to make a 1.6 MB jpg.

Has that screenshot been taken on a Mac? On my iPad I cannot find this option.

What model iPad do you have? What version of iOS is it running?

If you are on a very old version, the method could have been different.
