Apple ID and Activation Lock

iCloud uses Apple ID credentials.

If you do not remember the Apple ID Password then follow the steps given in this Apple Article -> If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

If you do not remember the Apple ID then follow the steps given in this Apple Article -> If you forgot your Apple ID - Apple Support

If you are the owner or the owner has shared all information with you then to open Activation Lock:- If it is Activation locked, read here --> Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Learn how to remove a device from a previous owner's account.

If you are not the rightful owner of this iPhone and do not possess the associated Apple ID and password, there is absolutely no way to gain access to the device. Apple’s security framework is designed to prevent unauthorized use, so the only circumstance in which you could unlock the phone is if the original owner willingly provides their credentials. In rare cases, access might become possible if the owner unintentionally removes the device from their Apple ID account, but this is purely accidental and not something you can rely on. In essence, without the Apple ID and password, the iPhone remains permanently tied to its legitimate owner.

Apple limits the number of Apple IDs that can be created on a single device to 3. If you have already created 3 Apple IDs on your device, you will need to use another Apple device to create any more. You can create as many Apple IDs as you want, but you can only create 3 per device.

There are a few reasons why Apple has this limitation. One reason is to prevent people from abusing the free 5GB of iCloud storage that comes with every Apple ID.

If you need to create more than 3 Apple IDs, you can use a computer to do so. You can also use a different Apple device that has not yet created 3 Apple IDs.

Here are some additional things to keep in mind:

  1. You can only create new Apple IDs on devices that are running iOS 10 or later.
  2. You can remove Apple IDs from devices, but this will not reset the 3-Apple-ID limit.
  3. If you have a family sharing plan, you can share iCloud storage with other family members. This means that you can have more than 3 Apple IDs on your device, as long as each ID is associated with a family member.
  4. Create your Apple ID on the web
    1. Go to appleid.apple.com and click Create Your Apple ID.
    2. Follow the onscreen steps to provide an email address, create a strong password, and set your device region. ...
    3. Enter a phone number that you can always access.
    4. Check the boxes to subscribe to Apple Updates if you'd like.
    5. More items...

Welcome and thank you for reaching out. 🤗

According to Apple:

Use a trusted Apple device:

The easiest way to reset your password is with your iPhone or other trusted Apple device — one that’s already signed in to your Apple Account, so that Apple knows that it’s yours. You also need a passcode (or password on Mac) set up on that device.

Resetting your password on the web when you don’t have a trusted device is another way to regain access to your account.

Reset your Apple Account password on your iPhone, iPad or Apple Vision Pro:

  1. Open the Settings app, then tap [your name].
  2. Tap Sign-In & Security.
  3. Tap Change Password.

4. Enter your device passcode.

Then follow the onscreen instructions to change your Apple Account password.

You might be required to wait one hour before changing your Apple Account password or other critical security settings. Learn more about Stolen Device Protection and when a security delay might be required.

Reset your Apple Account password on your Mac:

  1. From the Apple menu , choose System Settings.
  2. Click [your name], then click Sign-In & Security.
  3. Click Change Password.

  • Enter the password used to unlock your Mac. Then follow the onscreen instructions to change your Apple Account password.

If you’re trying to sign in on a new Apple device:

If you’re not signed in to your Apple Account on an Apple device, you can select “Forgot password or don’t have an Apple Account?” during device setup on the Apple Account sign-in screen.

If you skipped signing in during setup, you can reset your password in Settings:

  • iPhone or iPad: Open the Settings app, then tap Apple Account. Select “Sign in manually”, then tap “Forgot password?” and follow the onscreen instructions.
  • Mac: From the Apple menu , choose System Settings. Click Sign in, then click “Forgot password” and follow the onscreen instructions.

If you don’t have a trusted device:

If you’re not able to use one of your own trusted devices, borrow a device from a family member or friend. You can also change your password on iforgot.apple.com.

Reset your Apple Account password with the Apple Support app on a borrowed device:

If you don’t have an Apple device but have access to your trusted phone number, use the Apple Support app. You can borrow an Apple device from a friend or family member, or use one at an Apple Store.

  1. Open the Apple Support app on the borrowed Apple device. If you need to download the Apple Support app, find it in the App Store.
  2. Scroll down to Support Tools, then tap Reset Password.
  3. Tap “Help Someone Else”.
  4. Enter your Apple Account email address or phone number.
  5. Tap Continue, and follow the onscreen instructions to reset your password.

Any information that you enter won’t be stored on the device.

Reset your Apple Account password on the web:

You can also regain access to your account by resetting your password on the web. When possible, the web browser redirects you to a trusted device instead.

The reset process on the web might take a little longer. If you’ll have access to one of your trusted devices soon, it might be faster and easier to reset your password at that time.
