Apple Watch Series 6 failing to 'verify update'

I have an Apple Watch Series 6. It was my Mom's old watch. She also had an Apple Watch Series 4... which I gave to her and kept the 6... lol. Since both watches were sitting untouched in a jar for who knows how long, the phones which they were linked to were unavailable, so we factory reset both. The series 4 we got up with zero problems to my Mom's iPhone 16.

When I tried to link the Series 6 to my iPhone 16 Pro, everything goes smoothly until the update downloads and verifies. The download is slow.. takes about 10-15 minutes.. But when it says verifying, it gets stuck for a few seconds and then gives me a message saying an error has occurred and the watch cannot be updated. You cannot bypass this, as you are forced to undo the update and wait again for it to do the same thing, or "check app" which does nothing but shows me the install button again. I tried my Mom's phone and it did not work aswell. I tried different internet networks, and several things online (which half were so outdated that the watch doesn't even work the same way).

Our phones aren't the problem. It is something with the watch or our wifi. I doubt its our wifi because the series 4 came on in like 1-2 hours.

No articles help. I need a valid answer for this.

The verification failure happens because a severely outdated watchOS on a long-stored device fails to shake hands with modern iOS 16 security certificates during the bridge-update process. Fix this by bypassing the automatic setup prompt, setting the watch up as a Family Member's watch or via direct on-device Wi-Fi updates, or resetting your iPhone's network stack.

Update Directly on the Watch via Standalone Wi-Fi

Instead of pushing the update through the iPhone's pairing sequence, force the watch to pull the update file directly over its own known network.

If your iPhone 16 Pro cached a corrupt update payload during one of your prior attempts, the verification step will error out identically every single time.

Open your iPhone settings, navigate to General > iPhone Storage.
Scroll down to look for any downloaded watchOS update file. If present, delete it.
Force-close the Watch app by swiping it away from your iPhone app switcher, restart your iPhone, and restart the watch via a hard reset (hold both the side button and Digital Crown until the Apple logo appears) before trying again.

Place the watch on its magnetic charger and ensure it has at least 50% battery
Power on the watch, skip the iPhone pairing prompt initially, or access the watch settings if accessible.
On the watch itself, open the Settings app.
Go to General > Software Update.
Download and install the update straight from the wrist. Because it bypasses the iPhone data relay during verification, it frequently succeeds where the iOS Watch app fails.

The watches were reset and I cannot update directly on the watch. When I hold the crown and power down at the same time the screen goes

black but never comes back until I put it on the charger. The battery isn't bad, before resetting the health was at 100. On my iPhone storage nothing shows up and heads up this was tried on another phone aswell and the same thing happened.
