Older Mac Pro component upgrades for home data center storage?
Hello. I have acquired a Mac Pro from a family member. Either 2009, 2010, or 2012 version, I do not know the specs yet. I am planning to use it as a home data center, for example, storing my icloud photos in it, instead of icloud, documents and such. I believe no components were changed since new, and I have some questions. If I will going to be using it as such, would I need to upgrade any components? I won't be using it for any video editing or web browsing at all, just a place to store my documents instead of storing in the cloud. If I have to, I can keep it offline if that is what I am being recommended. Or unofficially upgrading the software. I believe it might be running a server version of the operating system, and everything is functional. Thank you in advance.
