This issue is best handled directly through CapCut Support, as Apple cannot modify third-party account linkages or project data once a relay email is created.
Why This Happens
When you select "Sign in with Apple" and choose "Hide My Email", Apple generates a unique, randomized Private Relay email address specifically for that sign-in attempt.
- Different Apps, Different Relays: Apple assigns different private relay email addresses to the CapCut iOS/iPadOS app and the CapCut macOS desktop application. Because the email addresses generated by Apple do not match, CapCut creates two separate, unlinked accounts.
- Login Method Differences: CapCut treats distinct login methods (e.g., signing in directly via email vs. Apple ID vs. QR code) as separate accounts, even if the underlying email is related.
How to Fix the Sync Issue
To consolidate your projects onto a single account:
- Identify the Primary Account: On the MacBook where your projects are located, check the account profile details to see which email address or UID is attached.
- Link a Direct Login Method: Open CapCut on the MacBook (or mobile app, where account linking settings are most complete). Go to Account / Profile Settings and bind a standard Email Address, Google, or TikTok account to that existing CapCut profile.
- Log In on the iMac: On your iMac, log out of the temporary account. Sign back in using the direct Email or social login method you just linked.
When to Contact CapCut Support
If your projects are stuck on an account created via Private Relay and you are unable to link another login method via settings, contact CapCut Support. Provide them with:
- The Private Relay email assigned to each device (found in System Settings > Apple ID > Sign in with Apple on your Mac).
- Your CapCut User IDs (UID) displayed in your profile settings on both devices.
