MacBook Neo Split Windows Not Covering the Screen

When using split-screen mode, the windows do not extend to cover the screen completely in the vertically. I feel it has to with a black border that shows up when I click on the wallpaper, but I'm unsure.

Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken:

  • Checked desktop and dock settings.
  • Toggled "Windows have margins" on and off.
  • Toggled "Windows have separate docks" on and off.

Despite these adjustments, I have not been able to find the setting preventing full vertical coverage. What setting or configuration am I missing to fix this? The red box highlights the areas where I cannot cover.

If you want the windows to cover all the screen space, you would need to hide the menu bar (top of the screen) and hide the Dock (bottom of the screen).

To hide the menu bar, go to System Settings > Control Center (or perhaps Desktop & Dock in macOS Tahoe), and set "Automatically hide and show the menubar" to Always.

To hide the Dock, go to System Settings > Desktop & Dock, and turn on "Automatically hide and show the Dock".

To make either the menu bar of the Dock (temporarily) visible, hover the cursor at the top of the screen for the menu bar, or the bottom of the screen for the Dock.
