Apps not running after iOS 26.6 and 26.6.1 updates

Ever since I updated my iPhone 16 pro max with 26.6, applications like telegram and Wells Fargo among others refuse to start. They just show the initial screen and frizz. Applications updates and application downloads from App Store are not being downloaded, only the waiting ring is shown for ever. I manage, after 5 attempts, to update to 26.6.1 but nothing changed, exactly the same issues. I have restarted my phone multiple times, try with wifi only, with cellular only and still same issues. iPhone memory has 413 GB free (from a total of 1 TB). I have stopped all running apps before trying to download or restart one of the apps with problems but same result. Any recommendations?

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. Updates sometimes "break" VPN, and it needs to be removed. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.

Thank you for your reply Lawrence. I did remove the profile and erase NordVPN, reset network settings just in case, restarted the phone and issues still persist. I took a look at the analytic data and saw apps are being terminated by iOS watchdog after a time out of 36 seconds. Apps failing are Wells Fargo, teams, yahoo mail and acrobat and telegram (now uninstalled).
