Logic Pro reinstallation needed?

When I open Logic Pro 12.3.1 it gives a message that the app is damaged and should be trashed. This goes on forever until I hit cancel. I can open a file from the Apple menu Recent Files. How can I reinstall Logic, if that’s what’s needed?
