iPhone 17 Pro Max Bluetooth Connectivity Issues

Hi hope someone can shed some light on my problem. I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and I am experiencing Bluetooth connectivity issues when using third party app ie Facebook messenger or WhatsApp for calls or video calls. So the problem is when I’m on call my AirPods drop signal and continue onto an endless cycle of connecting and disconnecting. I have tried everything to rectify the issue apple have replaced my handset which hasn’t fixed the issue I have bought a brand new pair of AirPod pro 3 to no avail reset the full phone and even used an old iCloud account in case it’s something to do with the settings but nothing seems to be working surly I can’t be the only one any help or fixes would be appreciated apple have been great through this but they are as stumped as me with this problem

ps I have al other Bluetooth devices removed so that it is only the AirPods connected to the iPhone

Try this

. Disable "Centered Frame" (The Core Video Call Culprit)

A massive bug in iOS 26 forces the camera’s advanced tracking system to overload background tasks during WhatsApp/Messenger calls, causing the system to drop the AirPods feed to save processing bandwidth.

  • Start a WhatsApp or Messenger video call with a friend or a test contact.
  • While the call is active, swipe down from the top right of your screen to open the Control Center.
  • Tap the [App Name] Controls pill at the very top of the screen.
  • Locate Centered Frame (sometimes listed under stage effects or camera modes) and turn it off.
  • Hang up the call, restart the app, and test it again
