Unable to add previously used card to Apple Pay on new iPhone

Got a new phone after my old one was ruined and while trying to add the cards that I previously had on my other phone’s Apple Pay it keeps saying that it was unsuccessful. I’m getting a text saying that the addition was successful but even after restarting my phone the card does not appear and it remains in the cards from other devices folder even though I’ve added it three times + restarted now! I know the card is supported by Apple Pay because it worked just fine a few days ago on my old phone! iOS version is up to date
