OS26.6.2 issues with file transfers, Garageband Beachball, etc

Now running OS 26.6.2 and Garageband only launches a Beachball. Before that it worked for a short time but then the Apple Music app won't accept a SHARE TO MUSIC from Garageband and the Apple Music app would only launch a beachball.

Hmmm. I restarted. Relaunched finder. Cleared away a lot of hard disk space. Turned off wifi/iCloud. Lit incense, chanted, used used foul language, apologised, spoke nicely to my 27" intel iMac, shook my fist at the moon. Nothing seems to help. Even moving a file from an SD card to a folder (local or iCloud) did not work. Have you any suggestions? Thanks

Have you tried safe mode?

Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

Yes, thanks. I just tried SAFE MODE. Still get GARAGEBAND BEACHBALL, APPLE MUSIC launches but can't LOCATE a song, tries to LOCATE and I get a BEACHBALL. I zapped the pram. I started up with D for diagnosis, no hardware issues. I ran the disk utility on HD, HD-data, SD card. All OK. OS26.6.2 runs SAFARI okay. PHOTOS ok. It's my MUSIC programs that seem to be crippled with the new OS26.6.2. How is my cruddy band gonna make it without my once trusty iMac 27" intel production partner?
