Screen and buttons are unresponsive at random.

I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max (I know it’s old but I don’t want to pay a load just for a new one). For the past couple of months, the screen will lock up and no buttons are functioning. Other times, the screen is okay but buttons don’t work (especially the annoying ad ones that you can hardly see.

I read a few posts about similar issues here and I’m none to happy about the”fix”. My battery number is 78%.

I am on the original battery so you could say I’ve got my monies worth out of it. I’m a bit miffed that the only fix Apple suggest is, paying for a new *** battery.

The nearest Apple store is 40 miles away. I don’t have car at the moment to go there. I’m unemployed and I don’t receive any unemployment benefits. To solve this battery issue, Im going to have to pay uber $40 for a round trip to best buy plus the cost of the battery.

I think I’m just going to get a cheap android phone and be done with Apple.

Thanks for letting me vent if you should happen to read this.

If it only happens when plugged in, you need a new cable. If it happens other times your screen digitizer is failing; contact Apple to get it replaced→iPhone Screen Repair & Replacement - Official Apple Support

As you point out, it is an old iPhone, so the cost of repair would probably not be a good investment. Look at the iPhone 17e, which is about 1,000 times more powerful than your trusty iPhone 11 PM and is quite reasonably priced.
