iPhone 17 Pro panorama photos are missing the beginning of the photo

From your screenshot, I’d actually stop waiting before moving.

Apple’s pano instructions are to tap the shutter, then pan slowly and continuously while keeping the arrow on the center line. If you pause at the start, that first section can end up getting trimmed in the stitched result.

So I’d try this first:

• start a little before the part you want included

• tap the shutter and begin moving right away

• keep the motion smooth and level

I’d also test it once in the opposite direction by tapping the arrow in Pano mode. If one direction works better than the other, that helps narrow it down.

If the beginning is still missing on most attempts after that, even with smooth continuous movement, I’d lean toward this being a Camera/iOS issue rather than user error. In that case, I’d report it to Apple, especially since you’re already on the latest iOS and have restarted the phone.
