That's not necessary. Turn on Optimized Charging and put the phone on the charger every night. It will be fully charged and ready to go in the morning. If you need to charge it during the day, do that. If you want to leave it sitting on a charger during the day, do that. You will get a lot more use out of your phone and spend a lot less mental effort dealing with charging. Apple's algorithms are smarter than you in this instance.

Also, the decrease in battery health is not linear. So the fact that you're seeing something different now than you did a month ago or a year ago mostly means your battery is aging. They do that. They are consumable and have to be replaced eventually. There is absolutely nothing you can do to change that.

I wanna say that apple better make a update that will fix this

Or what?

You must be under the impression you are speaking with anyone from Apple here? You're not. This is a user to user only forum. I have had absolutely no issues with Battery Drain with iOS 26.6.1 on multiple devices. Just because you may be having an issue, doesn't mean everyone is having an issue.

The first thing I'd do if you are, is Force Restart your iPhone --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

You can open Settings > Battery and the top five battery consuming applications will be listed. I wouldn't be surprised if you'll see Meta apps, like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram in the top 5. Only they aren't owned by Apple, yet they are often quite buggy and even when not being used, tend to drain the battery in our phones. When I'm finished using any Meta app, I force close them --> Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

The measure of battery health deterioration/drainage is subjective and can vary depending on individual usage patterns. There is no universal standard to determine whether the battery health deterioration/drainage is normal or abnormal because it heavily relies on how the battery is used and maintained.

Try to monitor Battery usage by iPhone Activity as shown below

What is shown under battery usage? Checking that would give you an indication of the usage behavior.

  1. Background Activity
  2. Notifications
  3. Connected to Charger
  4. Or any Other

Try some of these options too.

To prolong the life of your iPhone battery, you can follow these tips and best practices:

  1. Optimize Battery Charging: Enable the "Optimized Battery Charging" feature on your iPhone. It helps reduce the wear on the battery by slowing down the battery aging process. You can find this option in Settings > Battery > Battery Health. About Optimized Battery Charging on your iPhone - Apple Support (IN)
  2. Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, can negatively impact your battery life. Avoid exposing your iPhone to excessive heat or cold, such as leaving it in direct sunlight or in a freezing car.If your iPhone or iPad gets too hot or too cold – Apple Support (UK)
  3. Use Original Chargers and Cables: Always use Apple's original chargers and cables or certified third-party accessories. Low-quality chargers or cables can damage the battery and reduce its lifespan. Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories - Apple Support (IN)
  4. Avoid Draining the Battery to Zero: Charge it whenever the charge becomes lower than 20%. The rest is up to you when to charge. how long to charge, how often to charge, which adapter to use starting from 5W to 140W USB-C Power Adapter etc.
  5. Optimize Display Settings: Adjust your display settings to optimize battery life. Lower the screen brightness, enable auto-brightness, and use shorter screen timeout durations. Adjust the display and text size on iPhone - Apple Support (IN)
  6. Minimize Background App Refresh: Limit the number of apps allowed to refresh in the background. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and disable it for apps that don't require real-time updates. Switch apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support (IN)

Just to test it i let my screen off for an hour keeping 4g abd wifi bluetooth open
the battery goes from 53%. To 51% is it a normal consumption
i have iphone 15 pro max 100%. And 1 cycle charging

Perfectly normal. Even when the phone is locked, it's still doing things, like communicating with cell towers or your Wifi router, or checking for email, receiving notifications, etc. It's a computer you hold in your hand. Computers are always doing something, even when not being actively used by you.

I’ve noticed over the last few iOS updates (including 26.6.1) that watching any videos on X.com on Safari makes my phone as hot as a frying pan, and the battery drains really fast.

I don’t think it suppose to be like that.

If issue could be related to Meta apps I’m wondering why Apple did not protect its iOS from ability from third party apps from sabotaging battery ?

Apple has always put its users first, ahead of corporations, when it comes to security. So why can’t they take the same approach when it comes to battery consumption and stop companies like Meta from effectively ruining iPhone experience for their users.

Apple has tight security policies before they are getting approved to App Store Im sure there is a way to test impact of battery performance before app or update is allowed to AppStore.

Apple reviews all apps on the apps store. They don’t test them. And there numerous apps that will consume more power, with games and video playback at the top of the list.

Besides that there has to be protection mechanizm on the OS level as well.
Also battery drain on x.com during video playback is on Safari app not third party app.

The video being played are not Apples nor are they hosted by Apple; neither is the codex set up. You could try installing the X app, but wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t worse.

No, when I lock the phone during the playback of x.con video on Safari, phone still continuous to be hot, even after several minutes past locking. Why is that - video is not playing, screen is off, so why battery is not getting any colder?

CPU still busy playing the video in background on locked phone?

When I close the Safari tab with x.com video or close Safari app and than lock the phone again - phone starts cooling down.

I have already restored software on my iPhone over the cable connected to MacBook (and than restored from backup) but the issue is still present.

I think this is indication of some sort of bug in iOS not issue with X portal.

Perhaps Apple should drop support of video codecs which are ruining the battery on iOS and are not well optimized?

I’m not talking about game apps which depletes battery- this is obvious but Apple defenders are saying that some users are they getting worse battery just because they have Meta apps like WhatsApp installed which are running in the background.

So I’m talking about cases like that - Apple should better take care of situations like that and protect its OS better, either during at the stage when app/update is being allowed in AppStore but also preventing the apps from ruining the battery when its already installed and running in background (for instance protection mechanism that is shutting down app activity when it’s occupying CPU usage for longer time being - just the first idea).
