Cannot download or update apps on App Store⁠

Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Apple ID on my iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 26. I am unable to download new apps or update existing ones from the App Store.

I've already tried basic troubleshooting steps (restarting the device, logging out and back into my Apple ID, and checking my internet connection), but the issue persists.

Could someone please advise on what might be causing this or how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The ability to complete an app purchase on the App Store requires a functioning payment method.

A payment method is often required to verify your identity, prevent fraud and ensure a streamlined process if you decide to make in-app purchases or purchase paid apps later.

It also helps companies manage age restrictions and regional content availability.

Check your payment method in Settings ➢ [your name] ➢ Payment & Shipping, ensure it’s valid and update if needed. Also, sign out and back into your Apple Account, then try again.

If it still fails, contact Apple Support directly.

Hello,

What happens when you try to download or update an App?

Do you get an error? If so, what does it say?

Does it just spin, but never download?

Please explain the issue exactly and someone may be able to advise.
