My display suddenly developed a green screen issue despite having zero physical or liquid damage. I did nothing to cause this, yet Apple support is claiming it cannot be a manufacturing defect simply because I did not encounter it in the first few days of buying the device. Hardware components—especially OLED screens and display controllers—can degrade over time and fail internally due to underlying manufacturing faults long after purchase.
What makes this worse is that I am being forced into a loop to run a diagnostic test without any clear confirmation that the fee will be waived or that Apple will fix the screen for free once user damage is ruled out. Asking me to pay out-of-pocket for an inspection while denying the possibility of a hardware defect—without offering a path to help—is unacceptable. If a physical check confirms there is no user-induced damage, Apple should take full responsibility and repair it free of charge.
Sorry, but ANY electronic device can fail at any time. That's why you were offered the opportunity to purchase an AppleCare+ Plan within 60 days of original purchase. Had you done so, this wouldn't be an issue. But you gambled and didn't buy a plan. A gamble you unfortunately lost.
Apple isn't going to pay for your repair on an out of warranty device. Neither Samsung or Google would either and their screens can and do on occasion fail.
You do understand this is a user to user only forum, right? It doesn't matter what you tell us you expect here. We're not Apple and we can't offer you a free repair. You can certainly ask Apple if they will cover your screen, but I suspect you're going to be disappointed with the outcome.
