iPod Classic not syncing all songs and creating new playlist

have ipod classic. iTunes 12.13.10.3. Issue: have 9320 songs in itunes library in 18 playlists that I created. When I tried synching today, only 7812 songs synched and a new playlist was created "Music" that contained the 7812 songs. But, under my iPod, I have a category called Music that contains the 9320 songs. After several tries at synching, only 7812 songs actually on the iPod, not 9320. Suggestions?

The Music entry under the iPod isn’t necessarily a playlist — it’s the library of songs iTunes currently sees on the device.

I’d check the sync settings first. Connect the iPod, click its device icon in iTunes, then select Music. If you want all 9,320 songs, make sure Sync Music and Entire music library are selected. Apple also notes that Sync only checked songs and videos can prevent unchecked tracks from syncing.

Also check the iPod’s available capacity. If there’s enough room and it still stops at exactly 7,812 songs, see whether the missing tracks have an exclamation point, are unchecked, or are cloud-only rather than actually downloaded to the PC. iTunes can only sync content that’s available locally.

I wouldn’t restore the iPod yet. First compare one or two songs that are missing with songs that synced successfully — that should help identify what those 1,508 tracks have in common.
