Final Cut Pro [NAME] playhead jumps when adjusting start/end points

I'm using the very latest version (12.3) of "Final Cut Pro" which is running on a 4TB MiniMac using the latest version of Tahoe 12.6.2. The issue concerns the "Ken Burns" feature of the cropping tool: with the playhead on the selected image, and the "Ken Burns" option selected, EVERY TIME I touch either the "Start", or "End" windows, the playhead jumps to either the 'beginning' transition, or the 'ending' transition in the video timeline, resulting in a view of the overlapping images making editing virtually impossible.

How can the playhead's transition jumping be disabled so that it STAYS on the selected image without jumping when the Ken Burns features are being used?

Mac mini, macOS 26.6

The "fuss" is about inconvenience in the execution of the work flow. It isn't helpful to see what's in either transition as that will only change if the timing of the transition is changed. Being able to lock the playhead on the clip in question with a single, toggling key function would be FAR more convenient than having to delete, and then restore via a <Cmd 'Z'>. But at present, the inconvenience WILL be dealt with by whatever method(s) until and/or unless a suitable FCP upgrade is forthcoming.
