Homepod mini stuck on configuring
One of four Homepod mini stuck on configuring.
Does anyone know which step in this process solved my "Configuring" problem?
I tried router reset, HPmini reset, removing, adding, and googling to death, but nothing worked except these random steps finally did the trick.
- Took problem HPmini to another location (Location 2) with a different wifi network, then removed HPmini from iPhone Home
- Tried to remove HPmini from appleid.apple.com "Devices" list. Here I got a message that I could only remove the problem HPmini by using one of the devices from a list of 3 specific devices that use my Apple ID, even though I have about 25 devices using the same Apple ID, including 8 devices at Location 2. No idea why none of the other 22 devices were not listed.
- Logged in to one of the 3 devices on the appleid.apple.com list to remove the problem HPmini. This successfully removed the HPmini from appleid.apple.com.
- Plugged HPmini into a Mac at Location 2 running Sequoia, and used Finder to reset the HPmini.
- After reset, added HPmini to Home on iPhone, "Configuring" finally stopped appearing after a few minutes, but HPmini connected to a wifi network at Location 2 that was different from the one my iPhone was connected to. Even after 1 hour, HPmini settings did not the offer option to switch the HPmini to the same Location 2 network my iPhone was using.
- Returned to Location 1 with HPmini. Plugged in HPmini, but again HPmini settings did not offer option to switch the HPmini to a different network, i.e. the network my iPhone was using at Location 1.
- After 10 minutes, settings for the HPmini popped up a message offering to switch the HPmini to the same network my iPhone was using at Location 1, and the switch was successful.
