Apple Watch Activity rings and steps disappear from Fitness app after a few days

Hi everyone,

I’m having a strange problem with my Apple Watch and the Fitness app on my iPhone.

At the end of each day, I connect/sync my Apple Watch with my iPhone. Everything looks correct at first, the Activity rings are closed and the steps are visible in the Fitness app.

However, after a few days, I noticed that some previous days suddenly change. The Activity rings are no longer closed, the step count disappears.

The strange thing is that I know the rings were closed on those days and the data was visible initially. It seems that the data disappears from the Fitness app sometime later.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Is there a way to restore the missing steps and Activity rings from those days?

I’d really like to recover those days because the rings were completed, but now they appear as if there was no activity at all.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Try this

  1. Force close the Fitness and Health apps on your iPhone.
  2. Force restart your iPhone.
  3. Force restart your Apple Watch immediately after. Hold down both the Side Button and the Digital Crown for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. Turn both devices back on, open the Fitness app, and leave it open for a few minutes to see if the data populates.
