iPhone 16 AppleCare+ repair: No replacement or loaner device
AppleCare+ Repair — No Replacement or Loaner Device Provided During 7-Day Repair
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice regarding an issue I’m having with my iPhone 16 and AppleCare.
My iPhone 16 developed a hardware issue, and I contacted Apple for service. The device has now been taken in for repair, and I’ve been told that the repair may take approximately 7 days.
The problem is that I was not provided with a replacement device or loaner phone during this period. Since I rely heavily on my iPhone for my day-to-day activities, work, communication, banking, authentication, and other essential tasks, being without a phone for a week is causing significant difficulty.
I understand that repairs can take time, but I purchased AppleCare specifically for additional service and support when something goes wrong with my device. I’m therefore disappointed that there doesn't appear to be any temporary solution available while my phone is being repaired.
I would like to understand:
- Is Express Replacement Service available for my iPhone under AppleCare?
- If it is available, why wasn't it offered when my device was accepted for repair?
- If Express Replacement isn't available in my situation, does Apple provide any loaner device option for customers whose devices are retained for several days for an AppleCare-covered hardware repair?
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation, particularly in India.
I’m not looking to avoid the repair process — I simply need a reasonable solution that allows me to remain connected and continue my daily responsibilities while my device is with Apple for repair.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
