Recently replaced iPhone 13 Pro Max battery draining too fast and overheating

Hi. I recently replaced my iPhone 13 Pro Max’s battery as the capacity was at 79% at an authorized store. I received the phone today, and although the technician showed me the battery capacity was at 100%, was “genuine” and had no cycles, I have been noticing that my phone’s battery is still draining very fast and, on top of that, the phone is overheating. I have been searching on the web possible causes for this and some say that it’s because the battery was not installed properly or had cheap parts. What could possibly be the cause of this? :(

You told us that the battery was "genuine", so toss the idea about cheap parts. The only part that was installed was the battery, so the responses that you saw on the Internet were poor guesses from those who simply do not know.

As far installing the battery "properly", it would not be possible to install the battery otherwise, since it will only fit into the iPhone one way, and the connection cables only fit one way as well.

If the battery is overheating, a message with a red thermometer will appear on the screen notifying you that the phone needs to cool down before things will continue. Is this what you see?

There is no measure or standard to determine how fast the charge on a battery will decline, so it is tough to make any judgements on the subject. The battery is going to do what it is going to do, and other than cutting back on using apps that are using up the most power, there is not really anything that you can do.

The shop is not going to switch out the battery unless it checks out as defective during a diagnostic test.
