iPhone 14 all browsers will not work until I reset phone

Within the last two weeks, every so often I have to reset my phone because none of my browsers will search. This goes for Safari, Firefox, and DuckDuckGo. This issue was happening on all of my browsers. I enter a search item or an address of a website and it just sits there and does nothing. So the only way to fix it is to reset my phone and then it works immediately until the next time.

Is anyone else having this problem and is this a known issue for iPhone 14? I keep my phone updated to the latest iOS release

Hello RRSilverShadow and welcome to the Apple Support Community.

Thank you for confirming that your iPhone 14 is already running iOS 26.6.1.

Since Safari, Firefox, and DuckDuckGo all stop loading at the same time, this is less suggestive of a problem with one individual browser.

The next useful step is to determine whether the interruption affects the iPhone’s network connection generally or specifically web traffic.

→ The next time it happens, before restarting the iPhone :

• Turn Wi-Fi off and immediately try the same website over cellular data. If you were already using cellular data, connect to Wi-Fi and test again.

• Try another Internet-dependent app, such as the App Store or Mail. Note whether it can still reach the Internet while the browsers cannot.

• Turn Airplane Mode on for about five seconds, then turn it off and test again. Note whether this restores browsing without restarting the iPhone.

→ Check for anything that can filter network traffic :

• Look for any VPN, firewall, antivirus, parental-control, content-blocking, ad-blocking, or custom DNS app.

• In Settings, search for “VPN,” “profile,” and “filter.” Temporarily disable any non-required network filtering or VPN configuration and see whether the problem returns.

Apple specifically notes that VPN and third-party security or filtering software can cause intermittent network connectivity problems.

If by “reset” you mean a normal restart, and the problem continues on both Wi-Fi and cellular with no VPN or filtering software involved, a network-settings reset would be a reasonable later step through Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

This does not erase your personal data, but it removes saved Wi-Fi networks and passwords and previously used VPN and APN settings.

We would not erase or restore the iPhone at this stage.

Please post back with which connection fails, whether other Internet apps still work at the same time, and whether Airplane Mode restores browsing.

Those results should narrow the cause considerably.

🙏

Have a good day.

And one more thing…

Never forget to think different.

Note :

Apple does not currently document this exact intermittent all-browser behavior as a known iPhone 14 or iOS 26.6.1 issue. The fact that restarting temporarily restores browsing does not by itself identify the cause.

Important :

• Always make sure that your Apple devices are running the latest version available of their operating system and that your apps are updated to the latest version available in order to benefit from fixes and compatibility improvements.

• Your iPhone 14 is already reported as running iOS 26.6.1, which Apple currently lists as the latest public version of iOS. You can verify software updates in Settings > General > Software Update.

I am on the latest version of the iOS 26.6.1. It is still happening sporadically. I have very stable Wi-Fi. As I mentioned this has only started happening within the last 30 days.

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. Updates sometimes "break" VPN, and it needs to be removed. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.

BTW, all browsers use the same background engine: Apple Webkit. Thus, different browsers are just different user interfaces using the same behind-the-scenes code. So it isn’t surprising that it affects all browsers.
