There are very many docks and hubs available for and compatible with the Mac.

Which is best depends on exactly what it is you want to achieve by adding one.

Why do you need a dock? Your Mac mini has more ports than an iMac and the MacBooks.

You have to determine what additional ports and features you need or want to add to your Mac and then shop for and buy the dock that meets that need.

Most docks simply connect to a Mac's USB-C or Thunderbolt port and require no setup or software.

Docks can be inexpensive or very expensive.

Thunderbolt docks are most expensive because they use the more expensive, faster and capable Thunderbolt protocols that include 4k, 5k and higher video resolutions, and faster connections to higher capacity storage devices and other peripherals.

USB-C docks are more reasonably priced, but they don't provide the highest video resolutions nor the fastest connections. They are fine for adding some video monitors and most any external storage and printers & scanners and camera card readers, etc.

What someone else thinks is best, might not be what you need.

There are all sorts of hubs and docks that have all sorts of different ports configurations.

There are stands with and without a slot for an additional storage drive.

There are all sort of free standing multi port hubs and docks.

Most simply plug in using a USB-C cable.

"Best" is highly subjective and depends on your needs and budget.

If you are looking for powered USB-A hubs, or for plain USB-C hubs and docks, those are a dime a dozen.

If you are looking for high-end Thunderbolt hubs or docks, I would suggest looking at the offerings on the Other World Computing, SonnetTech, and CalDigit sites. Those three vendors have been in the business of providing Thunderbolt equipment to Mac users for many years.

What is best, as others have said, is what your needs actually are.

How many devices do you need to plug in that there are not enough ports on the Mini to accomplish?

What types of devices are they? Do they require very high speed access or not?

One thing I will say, what ever you buy, make sure that it has its own power supply. They will be less problematic than relying on the Mini to supply power to the dock/hub and the devices that will be connected to it.

Once you determine what you need in a dock or hub (in any case it should be self powered) give OWF (MacSales.com) as they have a variety of docks in several configurations. They are not the cheapest items but are of excellent quality and have very good warranties and customer service.
