sharing DVD ROM movies through MacBook onward to Samsung TVset

I have an Apple MacBook Air running on OS Monterey 12.7.6.

I have connected an Apple DVD ROM player to the Macbook using the USB port. So I can play DVD movies on my Macbook screen.

I am able to stream my Macbook to my Samsung TV set using bluetooth Apply Play. In doing so I can show movies from my Safari browser and stream them to the big Samsung screen.

I am not able to play movies on the DVD ROM player and stream these via Apple Play / bluetooth to the Samsung TV set.

How come? How to repair?

if you are intending to send movies with full-motion Video to your TV set, best results would be to use a HDMI cable, preferably PREMIUM or ULTRA quality, to send the Video directly. High-spec HDMI cables as long as 10 feet are usually acceptable.

Airplay has to encode and decode again, and your Wi-FI connection to an AirPlay-capable device is unlikely to be faster than about 500 M bits/sec. AirPlay of musicals with lots of motion can be 'smeary' and the music distorted.

Direct HDMI Video cable can often provides a data stream on the order of 15 G bits/sec, about 30 times more data.
