iPhone 17 Pro Max overheating and rapid battery drain.

Hello. I bought a new phone 17 pro max and transferred data to it; the first time, I accidentally restored a backup from an iPhone 6. I deleted that backup, created new acc and updated to 26.6.1 and then transferred the data from my previous phone 14. The new phone worked fine for two days, but on the evening of the third day, it got very hot and lost 25% of its charge in an hour I wasn't using it at that moment.Later, while charging and sitting idle, it heated up again and lost 10% in just 5 minutes. It hasn't happened again so far today. Could you please tell me what happened to the phone? Is there a defect, and is it likely to happen again? It is an iPhone 17 Pro Max using eSIM, running update 26.6.1.

The chances are as with every new phone, it can takes days for the phone to index all the millions of bytes of data. And when an iPhone has to work behind the scenes it generates heat because the battery is working harder. Let's also define overheating. Unless you saw a red thermometer on the screen with a notification the phone can't be used until it cools to a normal operating temperature, the phone was NOT overheating.
