Same comment to you. Who did you think you're speaking with? NO ONE posting here is in any way associated with Apple. Apple doesn't participate here, nor read for user feedback. LD150 didn't change anything. No one posting here changed anything.

If you want to chastise someone, chastise Apple, by providing feedback to them here --> Product Feedback - Apple

The Mapquest app, available on the App Store has not changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico, or Lake Ontario for their navigation service. They also provide a name it whatever you want option where your account can create your own name for locations that were recently changed.

this forum is a user to user volunteer site to assist users with Apple products and services. The feedback forum is for communicating to Apple regarding their decisions on products and services.

I too have suggestions for renaming these locations, all of which would likely violate the TOS which I have no intention of doing here.

Apple didn't change the name. The current administration, whether we approve or not did. Apple simply changed the name in response to a U.S. executive order and the subsequent update of the official U.S. geographic names database.  I imagine, we'll soon see Lake Ontario become Lake America, like it or not.

Apple is following official U.S. Gov’t naming conventions.

(at least for U.S. Apple Accounts)

Apple and Google maps outside of USA show it as Gulf if Mexico (Gulf of America) to reflect international consensus whilst looking over their shoulder at you know who 🍊

It's already happened, both in Google Maps and in Apple Maps.
