Color correction not updating across synced or compound clips on Mac

I am having trouble with color correcting staying consistent when I use either a compound or sync'd clip. Here is my workflow:

I sync an interview clip with an audio clip.

I then apply color correction inside the sync'd timeline. (The purpose is so that as I use different parts of the interview, the audio and color correction remain consistent.)

I lay separates parts of the sync'd clip into a new timeline that will be my final edit.

In the process, I decide to make some additional color corrections to the original clip, so I double click the clip to open the sync'd clips timeline and then make the adjustment. However when I go bakc to the final edit's timeline, only the one clip in the final timeline is color corrected. I also tried to just click the sync clips timeline from the bin and make the adjustment there. no matter what - the color correction does not update both clips. I had a friend try this on his machine as well with the exact same results. What is happening and how can i ensure when I adjust the color correction, that it applies to all instances from the original sync'd clip? In my experience, if I just try to copy and paste it to all clips in the timeline, there is no consistency there either, which is why I started doing in a compound or sync'd clips timeline.

I am on a mac M1 ultra with Tahoe 26.7. My friend is on a M2 ultra with Tahoe 26.7 - both are experience this dilemma. I have tried this on both Final cut Pro(OG) and Final Cut Pro Creator Studio editions with the exact same results.

With a compound clip, what you expect should happen. Apple says that when you open the parent compound clip and change something inside it, including color correction, that change is inherited by all instances of that compound clip in your projects.

The important part is making sure you’re editing the parent compound clip, not an individual instance in the project timeline. I’d open the compound clip directly from the Browser and make the correction there.

A synchronized clip doesn’t behave quite the same way for this purpose, so for an interview where you want one correction to propagate everywhere, I’d use a compound clip as the master after syncing the audio.

If changes made to the Browser’s parent compound clip still update only one instance, that wouldn’t match Final Cut Pro’s documented behavior, especially since you can reproduce it on two Macs. At that point I’d report it to Apple as a reproducible Final Cut Pro issue rather than keep rebuilding the clips.
