On my iphone 17, mjenu does not always appear when touching text message

If you mean the menu with options like Reply, Copy, and reactions, try touching and holding the message bubble rather than just tapping it. You can also double-tap a message to bring up Tapbacks.
If it only fails sometimes, I’d restart the iPhone and make sure you’re on the latest iOS 26 update. If it still happens, does it affect every conversation, or only certain messages?
