I have a gift card for I tunes. It will not scan. And manually put code in says invalid code. After putting the correct 16 number code in.

You’ll need to contact Apple Support directly for help with invalid gift card codes. They can check the balance and verify the code.
If the card is confirmed invalid and was purchased from a retailer, Apple may guide you to provide proof of purchase so they can investigate or advise you on refund options.
The retailer generally won’t handle refunds for Apple’s digital codes once sold.
