Tempo Massimo Synth Lead in GarageBand stuck mononphonic

Tempo Massimo Synth Lead is stuck monophonic

Description:

The “Tempo Massimo” sound under Keyboard → Synth Leads only plays one note at a time (monophonic).

•  It used to play multiple notes/chords normally.

•  The problem happens in new songs and after completely offloading and reinstalling GarageBand.

•  All other Synth Leads (Sync Lead, Vintage Lead, Warp Lead, etc.) still play polyphonically.

•  No Mono/Legato or Polyphony control is available for this sound.

•  iPadOS 26.6

This appears to be a broken/corrupted preset.

If Tempo Massimo is monophonic even in a brand-new song, while the other Synth Leads still play chords, that does sound specific to that preset rather than a track setting.

Apple’s current GarageBand guide notes that synth sounds can have their own sound-specific controls, but there isn’t a general polyphony switch you can use to change this behavior.

Since you’ve already reinstalled GarageBand and reproduced it in new songs, I’d report it to Apple as a GarageBand preset issue rather than keep troubleshooting the iPad.
