How do I connect my iPhone as an external keyboard to a MacBook with a dead keyboard?

As far as I know, the iPhone cannot be used as an external keyboard for the laptop.

Buy or borrow a wired USB keyboard and plug that into the computer. Even a Windows keyboard will work.

What you are attempting is not possible AFAIK.

However — unless I’m mistaken — I believe that you should be able to successfully use any “generic” USB-C (wired) keyboard.

if you connect a Windows USB keyboard, all the Alphabetic and Numeric keys, and most of the symbols, will work as expected.

Only a few of the modifier keys will be slightly different. You can make a LOT of progress before you need to do complex re-mapping as described in that user article posted just above.
