Logic Pro V12.3.1 - no longer works

Logic Pro v12.3.1 - the second I installed this update, I can no longer access Logic Pro. it brings up an error "a valid App Store purchase couldn't be found". I paid full price for this and have been using it for 2-3 years now. It gives me the option to either close the app or go to the app store which sends me to a subscription version of Logic Pro.

I've tried following the guidance from Google AI which suggested I sign out then back in to my Apple ID (didn't work). Then it suggested I delete the Logic Pro app in AppStore and re-install it, but selecting "delete app" seems to have no effect whatsoever.

Can anyone please help? Is this an update screwup from Apple or am I knackered?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.6

You’re not knackered. Apple still supports the one-time-purchase version of Logic Pro separately from the Apple Creator Studio subscription.

That error usually points to the Mac App Store not recognizing the Apple Account that originally purchased Logic Pro. I’d open the App Store, click your name, and check whether Logic Pro appears in your purchased apps. Make sure the App Store is signed in with the exact Apple Account used when you originally bought Logic Pro.

I wouldn’t delete Logic Pro yet, especially if the App Store isn’t showing the purchase correctly. Apple specifically says previously purchased Pro Apps should be updated or reinstalled while signed in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase.

If Logic Pro does appear in your purchase history but still gives the “valid App Store purchase” error, I’d contact Apple Support before removing anything. That would point more toward a purchase-validation issue than a problem with your projects or plug-ins.
