Unable to reduce alarm volume

Unable to reduce alarm volume.

Since updating to iOS 26.6.1 I’m unable to reduce my alarm volume when editing an existing alarm or setting a new one; using the volume buttons turns the alarm volume down only for this to go back up automatically.

To permanently lower your alarm volume, you need to change the setting inside your iPhone's menu instead of using the physical side buttons.

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  • Tap on Sounds & Haptics.
  • Locate the Ringtone and Alerts section.
  • Drag the volume slider to the left to lower the sound.
  • Turn off the toggle for Change with Buttons so side presses do not alter your alarm level.
