MacBook M5 Pro Suddenly Stopped Recognizing Canon scanner - but printer works fine. Is this an OS update glitch?

My MacBook M5 Pro suddenly stopped recognizing my Canon Pixma MX922 scanner today. But, it still sees the printer & prints fine. And my old MacBook Pro (Sequoia) still scans & prints fine. Since this printer/scanner/fax is no longer supported by Canon, the rep suggested I scan through Image Capture. But that isn't working either -- as I get the same error that says my MacBook Pro doesn't "see" the scanner.

Is anyone else having this issue? It sounds like it's related to the latest OS update.

When I contacted Apple, they did all the regular checks (ie. printer/scanner is listed & checked, tried removing & adding back the printer, etc.) We even reinstalled Tahoe in case Image Capture was corrupted in the latest update. But nothing works. I keep getting the same error message.

Any suggestions or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.
