Typically is a sign of the display starting to fail...I suspect it will get worse not better.

In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Troubleshooting a Line on a Screen:

A. Mirror the Screen to this External Display:

This may be a software glitch, or a hardware error. Performing the following will mirror the Home Screen, and allow you to use it as if it were your laptop's screen. If you still see the issue, then it is a software error. If not, then it is a hardware error.

• Without Touchbar: Hold Down [command + F1]
• With Touchbar: Hold Down: [command + dull screen]

B. Restore from a Backup: 

Have you recently created a backup of your Mac prior to all of this? if so, restore from the backup. If not, then take this as a learning experience, knowing to always backup your Mac, prior making any major changes to your device, such as an Operating System update. Important: Be certain you create a backup, prior to the restoration.
