Like Aspect Ratios, Such As: 4:3, 3:2, 16:10, 5:3?, 16:9, 17:9, 19:9, 21:9 and 22:9 Aspect Ratio on The iMac System Platforms and The MacBook System Platforms.

And Screen Quality Resolutions, Such As: 480i, 480p, 540p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and 1440p Screen Quality Resolutions on The iMac System Platforms and The MacBook System Platforms.

This Feature is Only Available in The System Settings Menu Screen with The Display Settings Menu Screen with Just The The iMac Display Screen System Platform and MacBook Display Screen System Platform without Using The Monitor, the Projector Or A TV, So that Way You Can use It on The iMac System Platforms and The MacBook System Platforms, And It's Just like The One from The Windows System Platforms, as Well as The Gaming Consoles System Platforms, the Physical Media System Platforms and The TV System Platforms.

Click on the "Advanced..." button at the bottom of the "Display" System Settings. This will give you access to other display options such as a switch to "Show resolutions as a list". It won't give you 4:3 for the built-in, but it will give you other resolutions scaled for it.

Mac mini and Mac Studio will inquire the display hardware support, and all sorts of displays can be used.

How well the external displays might work will vary.

As for macOS itself and letter-boxing and window-boxing and such, and support within an iMac, send your enhancement feedback to Apple:

I know Those Type of Platform is The One, You Want, And I Mean, Yes, Those Types of Mac Desktop System Platform (Beside the iMac) have Screen Quality Resolution like The Aspect Ratios and The Screen Quality Resolution with A Built-In DVI Cable, HDMI Cable, Thunderbolt Port Cable and The VGA Cable That is Being Used on The Mac System Platforms by Themselves, I Want It like This:
