Reinstating credit card on apple pay

how to reconnect my credit card to apple pay after it was declined once due to insufficient fund? I do not have another credit card to add and get the charge paid . I need to reinstate this same credit card and get the charged paid as the insufficient fund was a one off incident and it is now funds are available in that card.Reinstating credit card on apple pay

Thank you Grant,

Here is what I did with the help of apple support agent. There was a balance of 44.79 that needed to be paid and he advised to go to App store then go to setting ( my name button on the top right hand corner of the screen on App store page) then choose add money below the screen and choose an amount ( options shown) and then click purchase. Provided your credit card is still on the system or if you have removed it earlier like I had to avoid over charges and scams the added the same credit card back on the apple pay as a method of payment and then click purchase ( the side button two times) then the system will charge your credit card and pay for the money on the account and settles it and then credit card is now functional and working as before.

Thank you very much for following up with that!

Since this discussion will be here for a long time, and others may find it by searching, I want to clarify what was likely happening. You initially said your problem was with Apple Pay, which is a slightly different feature than what was broken.

It sounds like your issue was with a balance on your online Apple Account, used for purchases at the Apple Online Store and Mac and iPhone App store(s) and Apple Music, among others. That account got frozen because of problems/changes with your payment method. In this case, that left an outstanding balance.

The resolution seems to be the same -- add a 'new' payment method (even if the same as the old payment method) and if the 'new' payment method works now, you are good to go. If the new one is similar enough to the old 'broken' payment method, the system will likely remove the broken one in the process -- so no 'updating' of a broken payment method is needed.

Typically credit card transactions that are declined are GONE. They do not generally sit around waiting for satisfaction.

If what you need to reconstruct is the transaction, not the card assigned to your account, then you will likely have to "buy again", and hope that the funds you added will allow the transaction to go through this time.

Credit card transactions fail all the time for a multitude of reasons. What merchants really want is to (reliably) get paid. If they get paid after your changes, then all is well.

Since you posted in the Apple Pay forum and specifically reference Apple Pay, I suspect you are getting declined when attempting to add the card to your Wallet and not your Apple Account. Any card added to the Wallet is approved/denied by the issuer of the card, not by Apple. Contact your financial institution of the issued card in that case.

If you are referring to adding the card to your Apple Account, and not the Wallet, then in that case Apple is the merchant for those transactions and may refuse to accept that payment method, just like other merchants, and consider it to no longer be valid due to the previous failures.
