Solution: Mac wakes from sleep unexpectedly due to third-party wireless mouse

Last year there were quite a number of complaints regarding Macs not staying asleep. I also experienced the problem.

A number of solutions were suggested and various contributors even stated that Macs should simply have the monitor shut down and the computer never allowed to sleep.

My unwanted waking experiences were due to a third party wireless mouse. The computer would wake shortly after being put to sleep even though the mouse and keyboard were not moved or touched.

Switching the mouse off before engaging sleep solved the problem.
