Not receiving sms or rcs texts

I recently got an iPhone after my main way of communication was using my Apple Watch. The carrier could not transfer the number from my watch to my phone so I have 2 different numbers. Now, when my watch hasn’t been used in a few days OR it’s dead I can’t send or receive SMS or RCS messages on my phone. Adding on to that, the carrier only made 2 separate numbers because they could not combine them. Also in the settings app I can’t look at the settings for iCloud or iMessage (they’re greyed out), all of this has confused me greatly and if someone could help I would appreciate it a lot!

Sorry, but as far as I know, the phone number for your watch is related to the phone number of your iPhone.

The only way to have a separate phone number for the Apple Watch would be settings the watch up in Family Plan.

Have a look at this discussion and the answer given by BobHarris:

And, you might be able to use a different phone number, if you use the Dual SIM option on your iPhone:
