Time Machine backup fails on external drive after reformatting
Hello,
I have a 1tb seagate one touch external hard drive, sealed with a password, which I re-formatted with apfs for time machine. The first backup went successfully, but then I decided to make a volume for photos using disk utility. On my next backup, a pop-up window said that the backup was unsuccessful because the drive was no longer encrypted. I forgot the drive (on the time machine) and tried adding it again, but now the error says: "An error occurred while starting the backup. Anti-virus software may be preventing Time Machine from writing to the backup." Not sure how to proceed short of erasing everything on the drive and trying again. Thanks in advance!
