How do I fix random audio dips on my iPhone 11?

My iPhone 11’s Audio with randomly dip violently. Like near silent. The volume stays at full volume the entire time, the audio just goes silent. I’ve had this problem for years and it drives me crazy but I’ve never been able to fix it

The iPhone 11 uses the TrueDepth front camera to see if you are looking at your phone. If you look at the screen while an alert, message, or video processes in the background, it will violently dip the volume because it assumes it already has your full attention.

  • Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
  • Scroll down to find Attention Aware Features.
  • Turn it OFF.
