Why does 'Recognize My Voice' keep turning off on HomePod?

Our HomePod is registered to me, but, seemingly randomly, “recognize my voice” is toggled off and I have to go through the process again and again. My theory is that when my phone or the HomePod auto updates, it’s being turned off in settings. I’ve done all the things, and this has persisted for months. Apple, please fix.

Try this

When an update happens, the Siri data stored in your iCloud can become temporarily unavailable, causing the HomePod to reset the toggle.

  • On your iPhone, open Settings and tap [Your Name] at the top.
  • Tap iCloud, then tap See All under "Saved to iCloud".
  • Find Siri and toggle it OFF.
  • Restart your phone, return to this menu, and toggle Siri back ON.
