There are various possible reasons, and we have very little info. to go on.
Eg: Does the presentation contain a lot of high-resolution images ?
How much free memory / storage capacity does your Mac have ?
(A Mac generally needs at least 50Gb free on order to operate smoothly, preferably more for intensive image / video / audio work)
Do you have other memory intensive software running in the background?
(You can: View CPU activity in Activity Monitor on Mac - Apple Support)
Is there interference: eg: from VPN, unnecessary third-party (non-Apple) apps like virus checkers, ad-blockers, cleaners and the like ?
Keeping a Mac updated to the newest MacOS version often sidesteps issues, due to having the latest bug-fixes, security updates etc, installed: What's new in the updates for macOS Tahoe 26 - Apple Support says macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 is the latest version.
(Reminder: Always wise to back-up Mac before updating MacOS)
Sometimes simply restarting your Mac (Apple menu > Restart) can restore order if something is not working as expected.
