Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store and have them checked. They can determine whether or not they are genuine.
Very simple. If you purchased the AirPods from anyone other than Apple or an Apple authorized reseller the probability that they are fake (or stolen) rises greatly. So the first question is where did you obtain them and what makes you want to verify their authenticity? The fact that you are concerned is a red flag.
As for proving it there are ways to check the serial number but that doesn't prove anything because the counterfeit units often have legitimate serial numbers obtained from real units.

I’ve checked the serial number and they’ve obviously used a real one as claims they were bought from Apple but upon opening the box they are clearly from Temu or some sort of shop ;(
