Apple Pencil Pro battery

I find it hard to believe that Apple, one of the biggest (if not THE) biggest tech companies on the planet can not implement a battery saving feature in the Pencil Pro. I’ve searched and read countless forums, each giving conflicting information about taking care of it. I don’t use mine much and try not to let it drop below 10%. But, I don’t want this anxiety! Turn off Bluetooth, unlink it, put it somewhere where it won’t move etc. etc. Are you telling me they can’t add a firmware update that puts it into a ‘deep sleep’ state when it hits X% if not moved in X minutes or hours? Or maybe just ‘squeeze’ it for 10 seconds, it vibrates and deep sleeps 30 seconds after no movement? This is not Rocket Science, guys!!

Keeping the Apple Pencil Pro docked with your iPad when not being used is recommended.

Apple Pencil Pro and second generation Apple Pencil should be kept docked with the host iPad when not in active use - as this ensures that the tiny internal battery is kept optimally charged when not in use.  Charging only occurs when the battery requires charge from the iPad, optimal charge being entirely automatic.

Leaving the Pencil separated from the iPad when unused risks allowing its battery to discharge - as the Pencil's internal accelerometer will wake the Pencil whenever movement is detected. if allowed to discharge and remain in this state, the battery will inevitably suffer irreversible damage. When the battery fails, the only remedy is to replace the entire Pencil; the battery is not a serviceable item.

An otherwise healthy Apple Pencil will suffer no negative consequences from being docked with its host iPad for extended periods.

Charge your Apple Pencil and check the battery - Apple Support

As suggested by Rudegar, Apple does invite submission of constructive comments, feedback and feature requests via its Product Feedback portal. If you would like to see a specific feature or functionality in a future version of iPadOS, this would be the most appropriate channel through which to make a request:

Feedback - iPad - Apple

While you are unlikely to receive a personal reply, Apple have indicated that all submissions are logged, analysed and forwarded to the appropriate team(s) for consideration.
