iPhone Xr running iOS 18.7.10 drops the cellular network several time daily. I need to switch to airplane mode and back for it to reconnect to the Verizon network. Any solutions?

One possibility: If you have a weak connection or one that drops out periodically (or you are in a shielded building) the iPhone will attempt to reconnect for a couple of minutes, then it will space out reconnection attempts over longer periods of time, because trying to find a network uses huge amounts of energy and there is a danger of running down the battery. Eventually it will try every 5 minutes. You can start a new search by going to Airplane mode for a few seconds, then turning it off.
This is most likely to happen if your signal strength is 1 bar.
When was the last time that you had the battery replaced in the iPhone X?
If you tap Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging......what is the current reading for Maximum Capacity?
The battery was changed at an Apple Store December 2024. Max capacity is now 94%. It will still drop the carrier with the battery nearly full charged.
