How share my Apple Music back with the Apple Family organizer...

I have an Apple Family subscription. I am the organizer. I shared with my husband, but I cannot see his music while he can see mine. We have an Apple Music family subscription. This is so frustrating. No where can I find instructions to fix your confusing limitations. Family sharing is turned on everywhere. Your instructions assume we are just setting it up with a new subscription. Please provide me with a link to accurate up-to-date instructions. Why is this so difficult? It should be a simple click, click and done!

Apple Music Family Sharing gives each member a separate, private personal library and recommendations, meaning you cannot automatically see each other's personal music libraries. 

If your husband can see your music, it usually means he is logged into your Apple ID for Media & Purchases, or you are sharing a profile connection unintentionally.


  • Check Media & Purchases: On your husband's device, go to Settings > [His Name] > Media & Purchases. Ensure he is signed in with his own unique Apple ID, not yours. 
  • Verify Family Subscriptions: Review the Apple Support Guide on Shared Subscriptions to confirm the family plan is active and shared correctly with his specific account.
  • Share Playlists Manually: Apple Music does not sync entire personal libraries between different accounts. To share specific music, you must make a playlist public on your profile or send it to him directly:
    1. Open the Music app.
    2. Go to your playlist, tap the three dots icon.
    3. Tap Share to send it via Messages or mail.
